The identities of these prisoners, \u201c<strong>Mansour Avakhtizadeh <\/strong>and <strong>Akbar Emami,<\/strong>\u201d have been confirmed by Breathing in Confinement.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"702\" data-end=\"998\">Mansour Avakhtizadeh, son of Torab, from the village of Qasi Chah in Kuhdasht, and Akbar Emami, from Nurabad, had previously been arrested on charges related to \u201cdrug offences\u201d and sentenced to death. The sentences were carried out at dawn on Tuesday, 16 September 2025, in Ghezel Hesar Prison.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"702\" data-end=\"998\">\n<p><strong>No official report<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As of the time of this report, the execution of these prisoners has not been announced by official resources.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Annual Report on Executions in Iran<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>According to the annual report by the Statistics Centre of the Prisoners\u2019 Rights League in Iran, at least 1,170 individuals were executed in Iran in 2024.
