The identity of this prisoner, <strong>\u201cAli Esmaeili,<\/strong>\u201d has been confirmed by Breathing in Confinement. He was among the nine prisoners transferred to solitary confinement on Sunday in preparation for execution.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"765\" data-end=\"979\">Ali Esmaeili, from Nurabad, had previously been arrested on charges related to \u201cdrug offences\u201d and sentenced to death. The sentence was carried out at dawn on Wednesday, 17 September 2025, in Ghezel Hesar Prison.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>No official report<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As of the time of this report, the execution of this prisoner has not been announced by official resources.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Annual Report on Executions in Iran<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>According to the annual report by the Statistics Centre of the Prisoners\u2019 Rights League in Iran, at least 1,170 individuals were executed in Iran in 2024.
