Despite her deteriorating condition, <strong>medical staff and prison authorities labelled her a \u201cmalingerer\u201d and refused to send her urgently to medical facilities.<\/strong> Her eventual, delayed transfer led to a severe drop in her level of consciousness, and after roughly ten days in a deep coma at Mofatteh Hospital in Varamin, she passed away.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"983\" data-end=\"1384\">This deliberate negligence is a clear instance of \u201cneglect of a prisoner\u2019s health,\u201d which not only constitutes a blatant violation of the Prison Organisation\u2019s regulations, but also directly contravenes Iran\u2019s international human-rights obligations regarding the treatment of prisoners, in particular the Nelson Mandela Rules (the United Nations Standard Minimum Rules for the Treatment of Prisoners).<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1386\" data-end=\"1666\">Under the Prison Organisation\u2019s regulations, full responsibility for safeguarding prisoners\u2019 lives and their physical and mental health rests with the prison authorities.
