28 September 2025<\/strong> According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners\u2019 Rights League in Iran, Social Security retirees in Ahvaz and Rasht,<\/strong> as well as Social Security and steel retirees in Tehran, gathered to protest against low pensions, discrimination, inequality, poverty, and inflation. Protesters demanded the removal of the Social Security Organisation from state monopoly, amendment of Article 89 of the Social Security Law regarding healthcare services, improved pensions, and upgraded welfare services. In Isfahan, steel and mine retirees<\/strong> also gathered to protest against the improper implementation of pension equalisation, worsening livelihood problems, injustice, and delayed payment of their entitlements.<\/p>\n At the same time, applicants of the teachers\u2019 recruitment exam<\/strong> gathered outside the Parliament to protest discrimination, injustice, and the preferential treatment of certain candidates. They demanded the removal of the \u201cemployed candidates\u2019 coefficient\u201d from exam results and chanted: \u201cRemove the employed candidates\u2019 coefficient, employment justice,\u201d \u201cJustice, justice, the demand of every applicant.\u201d<\/p>\n In Hamedan, residents of the Farhangiyan housing complex<\/strong> protested against the installation of a telecommunications tower and the harmful effects of its radiation on public health. State agents attempted to disperse the protesters using pepper spray and violence.<\/p>\n Employees of Sharif University<\/strong> also gathered to protest livelihood and welfare problems.<\/p>\n In Tehran, students of Khajeh Nasir University<\/strong> staged a sit-in over lack of welfare and educational facilities, discrimination, and neglect of student demands.<\/p>\n Truck drivers of imported vehicles<\/strong> held a gathering for the second day in front of the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade.
