{"id":6985,"date":"2025-10-13T10:50:42","date_gmt":"2025-10-13T10:50:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bciran.org\/wplocationen\/?p=6985"},"modified":"2025-10-13T10:50:42","modified_gmt":"2025-10-13T10:50:42","slug":"eleven-protest-gatherings-held-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bciran.org\/wplocationen\/labor-and-guilds\/eleven-protest-gatherings-held-2","title":{"rendered":"Eleven Protest Gatherings Held"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"0\" data-end=\"109\"><strong>12 October 2025<\/strong><br data-start=\"52\" data-end=\"55\" \/><strong>News group: Protests \u2013 Pensioners \u2013 Workers &amp; Guilds \u2013<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"111\" data-end=\"224\"><strong data-start=\"111\" data-end=\"139\">Breathing in Confinement<\/strong> \u2013 At least eleven protest gatherings were held by various groups across the country.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"226\" data-end=\"1142\">Social Security pensioners in <strong data-start=\"256\" data-end=\"290\">Shush, Haft-Tappeh and Karkheh<\/strong> rallied outside the Shush governor\u2019s office, while Social Security pensioners in <strong data-start=\"372\" data-end=\"409\">Tehran, Ahvaz, Rasht and Shushtar<\/strong> gathered outside their city\u2019s Social Security offices. They protested low pensions, discrimination and inequality, harsh living conditions, poverty, inflation and rising prices, as well as the detention of protesting pensioners. Demonstrators demanded the removal of the Social Security Organisation from government control, amendment of <strong data-start=\"748\" data-end=\"762\">Article 89<\/strong> of the Social Security Law regarding access to medical services, and improvements to pensions and welfare benefits. Chants included: \u201cNeither parliament nor government cares about the people,\u201d \u201cImprisoned pensioners must be freed,\u201d \u201cMohammad Kamarva must be freed,\u201d \u201cOur costs are in dollars; our wages are in rials,\u201d and \u201cWhere is inflation control? You\u2019re lying to the people.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1144\" data-end=\"1631\"><strong data-start=\"1144\" data-end=\"1186\">Steel and mining pensioners in Isfahan<\/strong> marched and rallied over the incomplete and improper implementation of pension equalisation, worsening living conditions and neglect of their demands. They called for removal of the salary cap, prevention of the Steel Pension Fund\u2019s merger into the National Pension Fund, and solutions to problems with healthcare services. Chants included: \u201cSteelworkers, raise your voice\u2014shout for your rights,\u201d and \u201cOnly on the streets do we win our rights.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1633\" data-end=\"1825\"><strong data-start=\"1633\" data-end=\"1688\">Nurses at Kermanshah University of Medical Sciences<\/strong> gathered outside the university to protest ten months of unpaid wages, unfulfilled promises, and problems with tariffs and overtime pay.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1827\" data-end=\"2069\"><strong data-start=\"1827\" data-end=\"1850\">Green-space workers<\/strong> in the <strong data-start=\"1858\" data-end=\"1905\">South Pars Special Economic Zone (Asaluyeh)<\/strong> protested unpaid wages, unpaid bonuses and years-of-service benefits, pay discrimination versus permanent staff, and the lack of increases to commuting allowances.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2071\" data-end=\"2549\">On <strong data-start=\"2074\" data-end=\"2090\">Kharg Island<\/strong>, staff of the <strong data-start=\"2105\" data-end=\"2137\">Iranian Offshore Oil Company<\/strong> rallied over incomplete wage payments, pay injustice, inflation, and the outsourcing of the oil industry\u2019s health services to the private sector. They demanded full implementation of operational-zone allowances, removal of the salary cap, full payment of years-of-service benefits, cancellation of pension deductions, and enforcement of <strong data-start=\"2475\" data-end=\"2489\">Article 10<\/strong> of the Law on the Duties and Powers of the Ministry of Oil.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2551\" data-end=\"2825\">In the <strong data-start=\"2558\" data-end=\"2592\">South Pars township (Asaluyeh)<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"2594\" data-end=\"2605\">parents<\/strong> marched to protest the lack of transparency in calculating fees at non-profit schools, the use of personal bank accounts to receive tuition, and overcrowded classes. They chanted: \u201cIncompetent officials\u2014resign, resign.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2827\" data-end=\"3014\">In <strong data-start=\"2830\" data-end=\"2838\">Yazd<\/strong>, applicants in the <strong data-start=\"2858\" data-end=\"2895\">256-unit National Housing project<\/strong> rallied outside the Road and Urban Development office to protest broken promises and delays in handing over the homes.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3016\" data-end=\"3224\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">In <strong data-start=\"3019\" data-end=\"3027\">Arak<\/strong>, applicants in the <strong data-start=\"3047\" data-end=\"3082\">Babaei National Housing project<\/strong> gathered outside the Central Province Governor\u2019s Office, protesting financial opacity and delays, and calling for the project\u2019s acceleration.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>12 October 2025News group: Protests &ndash; Pensioners &ndash; Workers &amp; Guilds &ndash; Breathing in Confinement &ndash; At least eleven protest gatherings were held by various groups across the country.
