Breathing in Confinement \u2014<\/strong> The \u201cTuesdays Against Executions<\/strong>\u201d hunger strike by political prisoners was held this week for the ninety-third time, spanning 54 prisons<\/strong> across the country.<\/p>\n

According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners\u2019 Rights League in Iran<\/strong>, the ninety-third week of the campaign has become a symbol of human resilience in the face of oppression. In its ninety-third consecutive week, it echoes the cry of \u201cno to killing for opposing the authorities, and no to state execution,\u201d rising from fifty-four prisons and merging with the voices of people in the streets. While the regime\u2019s execution machine relentlessly takes defenceless lives, prisoners\u2014with bound hands but steadfast resolve\u2014cry out for life, justice and freedom. The prisoners\u2019 statement is not merely a report of a continuing campaign; it is testimony to a vigilant conscience that stands against the normalisation of death and calls on the international community not to turn a blind eye, but to stand with the people of Iran and amplify the clear, human demand for \u201can Iran without executions.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cWe begin the ninety-third week while the execution machine of the regime\u2019s religious fascism is racing ahead without brakes. After the one-week hunger strike by prisoners in Ward 2 of Ghezel Hesar Prison, executions\u2014especially in other prisons\u2014have continued at speed. In just the past 12 days<\/strong>, at least 76 prisoners<\/strong> have been executed. In response, cries of \u2018No to Execution\u2019 are being heard from across the country.
Last week, retirees in Kermanshah also chanted \u2018No to Execution\u2019 during their protests. They shouted: \u2018Carrying out the death penalty is a betrayal of the Qur\u2019an\u2019 and \u2018Iran without executions!\u2019
Last week, Ms Mai Sato<\/strong>, the UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Iran, and Ms Sara Hossain<\/strong>, Chair of the Independent International Fact-Finding Mission, highlighted the widespread violations of the right to life in Iran and the existence of secret executions\u2014only 8%<\/strong> of which are officially reported.
Members of the \u2018Tuesdays Against Executions<\/strong>\u2019 campaign in fifty-four different prisons continue to stand firm against executions and call on all prisoners\u2014especially those on death row\u2014not to remain silent in the face of this unjust punishment. We also call on families and the people of Iran not to allow this killing to continue in silence; publish the names of those sentenced to death and, by shouting \u2018No to Execution\u2019 in every possible way in the streets and alleys, confront this state crime.
On Tuesday, 4 November 2025<\/strong>, in Week Ninety-Three, the following 54 prisons<\/strong> will be on hunger strike:
Evin, Ghezel Hesar (Wards 2, 3, 4), Karaj Central, Fardis (Karaj), Greater Tehran, Qarchak, Khorin Varamin, Chubindar Qazvin, Ahar, Arak, Langarud Qom, Khorramabad, Borujerd, Yasuj, Asadabad Isfahan, Dastgerd Isfahan, Sheiban Ahvaz, Sepidar Ahvaz (women\u2019s and men\u2019s wards), Nezam Shiraz, Adelabad Shiraz (women\u2019s and men\u2019s wards), Firuzabad (Fars), Dehdasht, Zahedan (women\u2019s ward), Borazjan, Ramhormoz, Behbahan, Bam, Yazd, Kahnooj, Tabas, Mashhad, Sabzevar, Gonbad-e Kavus, Qaemshahr, Rasht (men\u2019s and women\u2019s wards), Rudsar, Haviq (Talesh), Azbarom Lahijan, Dizelabad Kermanshah, Ardabil, Tabriz, Urmia, Salmas, Khoy, Naqadeh, Miandoab, Mahabad, Bukan, Saqqez, Baneh, Marivan, Sanandaj, Kamyaran and Ilam.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
