The identity of the prisoner, <strong data-start=\"768\" data-end=\"791\">Nader Jameh-Shorani<\/strong>, has been confirmed by Breathing in Confinement.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"844\" data-end=\"1222\">Nader Jameh-Shorani, son of Moradali, from the village of Jameh-Shoran in Kermanshah Province, suffered a stroke after enduring two decades of imprisonment. However, according to reports, prison authorities delayed his transfer to a medical facility and failed to provide necessary medical care in time. Their late and insufficient action proved ineffective, and he passed away.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1224\" data-end=\"1775\">Under international human-rights standards, including the <strong data-start=\"1282\" data-end=\"1381\">United Nations Standard Minimum Rules for the Treatment of Prisoners (the Nelson Mandela Rules)<\/strong>, states are obligated to ensure the health, safety, and dignity of prisoners.<br data-start=\"1459\" data-end=\"1462\" \/>The direct responsibility for safeguarding the lives and wellbeing of individuals in custody lies with prison authorities and relevant institutions.
