24 December 2025<\/strong> According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners\u2019 Rights League in Iran, in the early hours of Wednesday, 24 December 2025, a prisoner was hanged at Qezel Hesar Prison. The identity of the prisoner has been confirmed by Breathing in Confinement as Ebrahim Alizadeh.<\/p>\n Ebrahim Alizadeh, 23 years old and a resident of Qarchak, had previously been arrested on charges of \u201cmurder\u201d and sentenced to death. His sentence was carried out at dawn on Wednesday, 24 December 2025, at Qezel Hesar Prison.<\/p>\n Breathing in Confinement had earlier reported, on 21 December, that two prisoners had been transferred to solitary confinement at Qezel Hesar Prison. The other prisoner\u2014who had also been sentenced to death on charges of murdering his spouse\u2014was able to obtain the consent of the victim\u2019s family (forgiveness by the next of kin), thereby avoiding execution.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n No official report<\/strong><\/p>\n As of the time of this report, the execution of this prisoner has not been announced by official sources.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Annual Report on Executions in Iran<\/strong><\/p>\n According to the annual report by the Statistics Centre of the Prisoners\u2019 Rights League in Iran, at least 1,170 individuals were executed in Iran in 2024.
