24 December 2025<\/strong> According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners\u2019 Rights League in Iran, in the early hours of Wednesday, 24 December 2025, a prisoner was hanged at Rasht Prison. The identity of the prisoner has been confirmed by Breathing in Confinement as Mehdi Rajabali-Zadeh.<\/strong><\/p>\n Mehdi Rajabali-Zadeh, 23 years old, had previously been arrested on charges of murdering an individual named Vahid Shadman and was subsequently sentenced to death. His sentence was carried out at dawn on Wednesday, 24 December 2025, at Rasht Prison.<\/p>\n The prisoner had also been transferred to solitary confinement last month in preparation for execution; however, after obtaining a temporary reprieve, the implementation of the sentence had been postponed at that time.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n No official report<\/strong><\/p>\n As of the time of this report, the execution of this prisoner has not been announced by official sources.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Annual Report on Executions in Iran<\/strong><\/p>\n According to the annual report by the Statistics Centre of the Prisoners\u2019 Rights League in Iran, at least 1,170 individuals were executed in Iran in 2024.
