The identity of the executed prisoner has been confirmed as <strong data-start=\"738\" data-end=\"760\">Mehdi Ali Hosseini<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"763\" data-end=\"1350\"><strong>Mehdi Ali Hosseini,<\/strong> a native of Andimeshk, had previously been arrested on charges of murdering an individual named Gheibi from Dezful. However, throughout all stages of the judicial process, he denied the accusation and consistently maintained his innocence. According to available information, no compelling evidence proving his involvement in the crime was presented. Nevertheless, <strong>the court ultimately sentenced him to death solely on the basis of an oath sworn by fifty individuals.<\/strong> The execution was carried out in the early hours of Thursday, 22 January 2026, at Ahvaz Prison.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>No official report<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As of the time of this report, the execution of this prisoner has not been announced by official sources.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Annual Report on Executions in Iran<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>According to the annual report by the Statistics Centre of the Prisoners\u2019 Rights League in Iran, at least 1,170 individuals were executed in Iran in 2024.
