Breathing in Confinement<\/strong> \u2013 Dr Shamsi Abbasalizadeh<\/strong>, a specialist in obstetrics and gynaecology, sustained a traumatic brain injury as a result of severe beating during her arrest for participating in popular protests in Tabriz, and was subsequently hospitalised at Mahalati Hospital<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Dr Abbasalizadeh is a well-known and widely respected physician in Tabriz, who has devoted much of her professional life to academic and educational activities. She previously served as the head of Al-Zahra Hospital and as a member of the academic faculty at Tabriz University of Medical Sciences. She was also among the university\u2019s teaching staff.
