Breathing in Confinement<\/strong> \u2013 The hunger strike of political prisoners participating in the \u201cTuesdays Against Execution\u201d campaign has reached its 107th consecutive week across 56 prisons nationwide.<\/p>\n According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners\u2019 Rights League in Iran, the escalating wave of executions, extrajudicial arrests, torture, and forced confessions<\/strong> constitutes a blatant violation of fundamental human rights principles, including the right to a fair trial, human dignity, and the prohibition of torture. The \u201cTuesdays Against Execution\u201d campaign represents a civil and humanitarian voice of protest against the cycle of state violence\u2014 a collective effort to defend the lives of political prisoners and to resist an inhumane punishment that brings neither justice nor security. This campaign is a call to the global conscience to safeguard the right to life and human dignity.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Full statement by the political prisoners<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cBased on reports and information received during the proud uprising of January<\/strong>, the repressive forces of the Supreme Leader\u2019s regime, in addition to massacring thousands of innocent people, arrested tens of thousands of Iranian citizens and young people, subjecting many of them to severe physical and psychological pressure to extract forced confessions.<\/p>\n According to these reports, in line with the intensification of repression and public intimidation, the execution-oriented government has arrested a number of lawyers, physicians, and healthcare workers\u2014demonstrating its growing fear of the courageous January uprising of the people.<\/strong><\/p>\n Over the past 20 days alone, the ruling authoritarian regime has executed more than 207 individuals,<\/strong> including two women. In addition, hundreds and thousands of detained prisoners, held incommunicado, face the threat of medieval death sentences. In recent days, Kurdish political prisoner Naser Bakarzadeh<\/strong> has been sentenced to death for the third time and is in serious and imminent danger of execution.<\/p>\n We therefore call upon the brave and courageous people of Iran to be the voice of detainees and political prisoners. We also urge the families of detainees to raise their voices in protest against oppression, injustice, and widespread unlawful arrests, and to stand firmly in support of their loved ones.<\/p>\n Yes, fellow compatriots\u2014 in these circumstances, silence is not an option.
