The identity of the prisoner has been verified by Breathing in Confinement as <strong data-start=\"837\" data-end=\"852\">Reza Karami<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"855\" data-end=\"1521\"><strong data-start=\"855\" data-end=\"870\">Reza Karami<\/strong>, son of Abbas and a resident of Dorud, had been arrested <strong data-start=\"928\" data-end=\"945\">two years ago<\/strong> on charges of \u201cmurder\u201d in connection with the <strong data-start=\"992\" data-end=\"1017\">unintentional killing<\/strong> of an individual named <strong data-start=\"1041\" data-end=\"1064\">Fariborz Taghizadeh<\/strong>, and was subsequently sentenced to death. Initially, the victim\u2019s family had expressed conditional consent to grant forgiveness in exchange for a payment of <strong data-start=\"1222\" data-end=\"1242\">8 billion tomans<\/strong>. This amount was raised with the assistance of members of the public and charitable donors. However, the victim\u2019s family ultimately declined to grant forgiveness, and the death sentence was carried out in the early morning hours of Sunday, 15 February 2026, at Dorud Prison.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"855\" data-end=\"1521\">\n<p><strong>No official report<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As of the time of this report, the execution of this prisoner has not been announced by official sources.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Annual Report on Executions in Iran<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>According to the annual report by the Statistics Centre of the Prisoners\u2019 Rights League in Iran, at least 1,170 individuals were executed in Iran in 2024.
