The prisoner has been identified as Behnam Nemati.<\/p>\n<p>According to the report, Behnam Nemati, a resident of Rasht and approximately 38 years old, had been arrested on 8 August of last year on charges relating to the abduction, sexual assault, and murder of a nine-year-old child named Ilya Zadhossein in the Hamidiyeh district of Rasht. He was subsequently sentenced to death. The sentence was carried out in the early hours of Monday, 1 June 2026, in Rasht Prison.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Annual report on executions in Iran<\/strong><br \/>\nAccording to the annual report of the Statistical Centre of the Prisoners&#8217; Rights League in Iran, between March 2025 and March 2026, at least 2,616 individuals were executed in Iran. Of these, 12 executions were carried out in public.
