The interpretation and classification of such conduct under the legal definition of <em>moharebeh<\/em>, however, has long been the subject of debate and differing opinions among legal scholars.<\/p>\n<p>The case is currently under review by Branch 9 of the Supreme Court following the filing of an appeal. Accordingly, the death sentence is not considered final unless and until it is upheld by the Supreme Court.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Peyman Ganji,<\/strong> aged 33, was arrested by security forces during the nationwide protests in January 2026.
