Breathing in Confinement:<\/b> Seven students of Sharif University of Technology have been expelled and barred from continuing their studies by the university\u2019s primary disciplinary committee due to their social media activities and alleged connections to cases related to the nationwide protests in January.<\/p>\n
According to reporters of Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners\u2019 Rights League in Iran, the expulsions come amid an escalating pattern of disciplinary measures against students, including the opening of disciplinary cases, suspensions, and deprivation of education in recent months. The students affected are Fariborz Kohanzad, Parnian Khodabakhshi, Sepanta Saeidi, Hossein Shadman, Fatemeh Khakpour, Masiha Bagheri, <\/strong>and Ariana Kouchaki.<\/strong> The expulsion orders were reportedly issued in connection with their online activities and cases related to the nationwide protests.<\/p>\n In this context, Ariana Kouchaki,<\/strong> an undergraduate Industrial Engineering student at Sharif University of Technology, was arrested by security forces in Tehran on 1 June 2025.
