Breathing in Confinement, Wednesday, 7 October 2026: The death sentence of at least one prisoner, who had previously been arrested on a murder charge and sentenced to death, was carried out in Jiroft Prison.

According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, a prisoner was hanged in Jiroft Prison at dawn on Wednesday, 7 October. Breathing in Confinement has confirmed the identity of the prisoner as Abbas Anjomrouz.

According to the report, Abbas Anjomrouz, from Sarduiyeh in Jiroft, had previously been arrested on charges of murdering an individual named Shahdadi and was subsequently sentenced to death by the judiciary. His sentence was carried out at dawn on Wednesday, 7 October 2026, in Jiroft Prison.
