Breathing in Confinement, November 29, 2020: A citizen from Marivan was sentenced to two years in prison.

According to the Kurdistan Center for Democracy and Human Rights, a citizen from Marivan named Amanj Nikpei was sentenced to two years in prison by the city’s Revolutionary Court, on a charge of “collaborating with a Kurdish opposition party.”

 

In connection with this case, Mr. Nikpei had been arrested on Wednesday, January 15, 2020, and on March 9, after completion of his interrogations, he was temporarily released on bail of 40 million Tomans.

 

Amanj Nikpei is the son of Khalid from the village of Ney in Marivan, and a member of the Green Chia Association.
