Jabbar Dousti arrested in the City of Marivan

Breathing in Confinement: On Tuesday, June 7, 2022, Jabbar Dousti, a teacher and teacher union activist living in Marivan, was arrested by security agents and taken to an unknown location.
According to “Breathing in Confinement”, the news organ of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, on June 7, 2022, Jabbar Dousti, a teacher union activist in Kurdistan Province, was arrested in the city of Marivan and transferred to an unknown location. While searching Mr. Dousti’s home, security agents confiscated his and his family’s personal belongings, including their laptops and mobile phones.
Repression of teachers and union activists has intensified in the past month, and since the month of May a number of teachers and teachers’ union activists have been arrested and subjected to intense pressures for forced confessions. Some of the detained teachers are: Jafar Ebrahimi, Mohammad Habibi, Eskandar Lotfi, Rasoul Bodaghi, Asghar Amirzadegan, Mohammad Alishvandi, Mohammad Ali Zahmatkesh, Abdolrazaq Amiri, Mehrdad Yaghmaei, Hamid Abbasi, Gholamreza Gholami Kondazi, Hadi Sadeghzadeh, Iraj Rahnama, Majid Karimi, Massoud Farhikhteh, Iraj Ansari, Vahid Goodarzi, Salah Azadi, Shaban Mohammadi and Massoud Nikkhah.
It should be noted that Jabbar Dousti was arrested on January 31, 2022, during a nationwide teachers’ protest, and was transferred to the Marivan Security Police Detention Center, from where he was released a few hours later.
