Breathing in Confinement: On the morning of Saturday, April 30, 2022, on the eve of National Teacher’s Day, four members of the Tehran Teachers’ Union were arrested by security forces and taken to an unknown location.
Rasoul Bodaghi, Jafar Ibrahimi, Mohammad Habibi and Ali Akbar Baghbani were arrested in a raid on their home by security forces.
According to the Breathing in Confinement, the news organ of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, in the morning of April 30, 2022, four members of the Teachers’ Union in Tehran, Ali Akbar Baghani, Rasoul Bodaghi, Mohammad Habibi and Jafar Ibrahimi, were arrested. Security forces violently raided the home of Mohammad Habibi, the spokesman for the Teachers’ Union, smashed the furniture and confiscated all of his wife’s electronics devices, such as laptops, phones, etc.
In addition, at 6:30 in the morning, security agents raided Rasoul Bodaqi’s home, broke the window glasses and arrested him using force.
On the occasion of May 2, the National Teacher’s Day in Iran, in line with the continued teachers’ protests and as the teachers’ demands had not yet been met, the Coordinating Council of Iranian Teachers’ Unions called for a nationwide rally to be held on Sunday, May 1.
