Breathing in Confinement – After more than 40 days from the November demonstrations, while the Islamic Republic’s authorities have not provided any official and accurate figures on the number of detainees, arresting the protesters is daily ongoing.

Breathing in Confinement-  the news organ of Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, quoted Mohsen Khancherli, the West Tehran police commander, on Sunday, December 29, 2019, who reported arresting 8 people as “the main rioters and disturbers of the public order.” He continued “ These people have been on Telegram and Instagram to encourage people to participate in the riots in the Counties of Islamshahr and Shahriar. ”

The day before also,  IRNA news agency quoting Kiumars Azizi- the East Tehran police commander, reported arresting  7 people as “ the contributors to the riots in the Counties of Varamin, Pakdasht, and Pardis.”

Given the information provided by the judiciary and executive authorities regarding the release of confession videos of the detainees, concerns have raised over their health status. So far, the Islamic Republic television has broadcast forced confessions of some detainees in various programs.
