Breathing in Confinement: The protest rapper, Tomaj Salehi was released on bail from Isfahan Central Prison on Tuesday evening, September 21. He had been arrested by security agents on September 13 and transferred to the Intelligence Office in Isfahan.

 

According to Breathing in Confinement, the news organ of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, on September 21, after spending 10 days in detention, the protest rapper Tomaj Salehi was temporarily released on bail from Isfahan prison awaiting the trial.

 

Amir Raisian, Tomaj Salehi’s lawyer, told the “Roydad 24” website that the charge of “propaganda against the regime” had been unofficially notified to Tomaj’s father and that his case had been registered in Shahinshahr court in Isfahan.

 

To arrest Tomaj Salehi, security forces raided his home and confiscated some of his personal belongings. Tomaj Salehi released a video after his release from prison, stating that during his arrest, he broke his cell phone.

 

In his songs, Tomaj Salehi addressed issues such as workers strikes, government corruption, executions and imprisonment, as well as Iran- China  25-year cooperation agreement.
