Mohammad Jarahi Released after Serving 5 Years

Breathing in Confinement – Mohammad Jarahi, a labor activist who had been imprisoned in Tabriz Central Prison, was released after serving 5 years.
According to the reports obtained by “Breathing in Confinement,” Mohammad Jarahi, imprisoned member of the Consistency Committee to Establish Trade Unions, was released from Tabriz Central Prison after serving his sentence of 5 years.
This labor activist was arrested along with Shahrokh Zamani in Tabriz, on June 8, 2011. He was then tried by Branch 1 of the Revolutionary Court in Tabriz and was sentenced to 5 years imprisonment on charge of the forming groups to disturb national security.
He was re-arrested after being released on the bail in January 2011 and was transferred to the central prison of Tabriz to serve his sentence.
Mohammad Jarahi at that time used to suffer from diseases such as thyroid cancer, but the officials have always opposed his medical leave.
This labor activist went to the cemetery and paid tribute to Shahrokh Zamani after being released.
