Breathing in Confinement: Amin Sattari Raouf, a civil activist from Tabriz, was arrested by security forces on the evening of July 22, 2021.
According to Breathing in Confinement, the news organ of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, Amin Sattari Raouf, a civil activist from Tabriz in Azerbaijan, was arrested by security forces on July 22, 2021 and transferred to an unknown location.
Mr. Sattari after being beaten, was arrested by security agents on January 1, 2018, during then nationwide protests, and a day later was transferred to the Prosecutor’s Office in Tabriz, and from where to the quarantine ward of Tabriz Prison. He afterward, was released on bail of 100 million Toman awaiting the court’s decision.
Mr. Sattari Raouf, who had been granted a leave from Tabriz Central Prison on June 29, 2020, on his return to the prison, was informed that after serving two years in prison, the remaining of his five-year sentence had been suspended.
In the last two days however, concurrently with a call for a rally in Tabriz, the civil activists have been summoned or even detained for a short period of time.
