Breathing in Confinement: On Tuesday, July 27, 2021, Babak Rezaei and Saleh Ekrami were arrested by security forces and taken to an unknown location. The two activists are from Azerbaijan who live in Akbarabad, Tehran.
According to Breathing in Confinement, the news organ of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, security forces entering Babak Rezaei’s home and Saleh Ekrami’s workplace, arrested them and transferred them to an unknown location.
The reason for their arrest and their whereabouts is yet to be known.
Concurrently with the protests in the cities of Azerbaijan, a new wave of arrests of Azerbaijani activists has recently emerged.
