Release of political prisoner Sajjad Zare from Adelabad prison in Shiraz

Breathing in Confinement: On Monday, May 24, after 18 months in prison, the political prisoner, Sajjad Zare, was granted a furlough followed by release from Adelabad Prison in Shiraz.
Sajjad Zare was one of the political prisoners who went on a hunger strike since late March, after releasing a statement protesting the deplorable conditions of people.
According to Breathing in Confinement, the news organ of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, after 18 months in prison, the political prisoner, Sajjad Zare, was granted a furlough followed by release from Adelabad Prison in Shiraz.
He was arrested at his home by IRGC intelligence agents on February 10, 2020 and was later sentenced to a total of seven years in prison by the Revolutionary Court as well as the 2nd Criminal Court of Shiraz. However, in Court of Appeals, considering the Article 134 of the Islamic Penal Code, his sentence was reduced to 2 years in prison.
Sajjad Zare is a 33-year-old citizen of Shiraz who had been serving his sentence in Ward 14 of Adelabad Prison in Shiraz.
