After serving 24 years in prison, two prisoners saved from execution

Breathing in Confinement, January 15, 2021: Two prisoners, under execution for 24 years in Alamut Prison on charges of murder, were saved from the gallows with the consent of victim’s family.

According to Hamshahri Online, in 1996 in eastern Alamut in Qazvin, two people were arrested for the murder of a 16-year-old boy during a scuffle and were finally sentenced to death.

As per the report, being pardoned by the victim’s family, the two prisoners escaped the death penalty after serving 24 years in prison.
