Nazila Nouri, serving her full sentence, was released from Evin Prison

Breathing in Confinement – Nazila Nouri, a Gonabadi Dervish, serving her full sentence was released from Evin Prison on Friday, November 1.

Nazila Nouri was one of the Gonabadi Dervishes who was arrested along with his son during the assembly in Golestan 7th in February 2018. In Branch 15 of the Revolutionary Court, chaired by Judge Salvati, she was sentenced to 5 years in prison which was finally reduced to 1-year imprisonment in the appeal court.

According to Breathing in Confinement- the News Organ of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, serving her full sentence, Nazila Nouri, a gynecologist surgeon, was released from Evin Prison on Friday, November 1. Her son, Kianoush Abbaszadeh, is currently being kept in Great Tehran prison.

Seven months after being arrested, Nazila Nouri was temporarily released on bail. At the end of a legal proceeding, however, upon the release of the appeal court verdict on May 21, 2019,  she was transferred to women ward in Evin prison to serve her 1-year sentence.  Prior to her release on bail, she was being kept in Qarchak Prison in Varamin county.
