According to the Iranian Human Rights Organization, on Monday, December 9, a prisoner was executed at Boroujerd Central Prison (in Lorestan province).

The prisoner sentenced to death on charges of “drug dealing” has been  identified as “Arsalan Yarywand, 33, from the County of Dorud.”

It is worth noting that the prisoner had been detained in 2015 for carrying 85 kilos of industrial illegal drugs and had been held in jail since. On Saturday, he was permitted to meet his relatives for the last time. And although he was due to be executed on Thursday, the sentence was implemented on Monday.
