In various provinces in Iran, police forces search the homes of Baha’i families and confiscate their personal belongings

Breathing in Confinement: On Sunday, November 22, 2020, security forces raided the homes of a large number of Baha’i families in various provinces in Iran and confiscated their personal belongings including computers, laptops, cell phones, and books.

Breathing in Confinement, the news organ of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, on Sunday, November 22, 2020, simultaneously in Mazandaran, Tehran, Alborz, and Isfahan provinces, security forces in groups of 7 agents, searched the homes of at least 50 Baha’i families and confiscated their personal belongings.

Some of the families have been identified as Afif Naimi, Niki Khanjani, and Shahrokh Thief, who had previously been imprisoned.

These unlawful attempts and human rights violations happened concurrently with the approval of a resolution on condemning the “grave human rights violation” in Iran, by the Third Committee of the UN General Assembly, in which the committee has specifically expressed its concern over the “growing pressure on religious minorities, including members of the Baha’i community.”
