Breathing in Confinement, December 2, 2020: Fouad Enayati, a civil activist from Sanandaj, was sentenced to two years suspended imprisonment by the Court of Appeals in Kurdistan.
According to the Kurdistan Center for Democracy and Human Rights, Fouad Enayati, a civil activist from Sanandaj, was sentenced to two years suspended imprisonment by the Court of Appeals in Kurdistan. He had previously been sentenced to ten months in prison as well as 74 lashes on charge of “disturbing public order through participating in illegal gatherings.”
The civil activist Fouad Enayati, was previously sentenced to 10 months in prison as well as 74 lashes in Branch 104 of the Criminal Court in Sanandaj presided over by Judge Omidi ,on charge of “disturbing public order through participating in illegal gatherings.”
Mr. Enayati had been arrested in October 2019, and 6 months later, when his interrogation was completed, he was temporarily released on bail of 300 million Tomans.
It needs to be mentioned that the sentence of 74 lashes had been executed on him on Monday, July 27, 2020, at the order of Branch 1 of the Criminal court in Sanandaj.
