Being unable to pay ransom (blood money), Behrouz Sohrabi is in risk of imminent execution

Breathing in Confinement, December 6, 2020: Behrouz Sohrabi, a prisoner accused of murder, is in imminent risk of execution because of being unable to pay a ransom.

According to Kurdistan Center for Democracy and Human Rights, a prisoner named Behrouz Sohrabi, son of Ali, from Bukan, who since 2015, has been under the death penalty in Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj, is in immediate risk of being executed for failing to pay a ransom. So far, he has been unable to provide the victim’s family with 500 million Tomans, requested by them in exchange for their consent.

 

Mr Sohrabi’s family has been informed that he will soon be executed in case of failing to obtain the consent of victim’s family.
