Widespread uprisings in Khuzestan province, in protest against the water crisis

Breathing in Confinement: On Thursday, July 15, 2021, people in various cities of Khuzestan province, widely protested against the water shortage. From Thursday evening, people in the cities of Susangard, Bandar Mahshahr, Ahvaz, Abadan, Bostan, Hamidiyeh, Kuy-e Zaviyeh and Dasht-e Azadegan took to the streets to protest. Heavy presence of security agents, and police forces has also been witnessed who reportedly opened fire on protesters.

According to Breathing in Confinement, the news organ of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, on Thursday, July 15, 2021, people in southern cities of Ahvaz, Abadan, Dasht-e Azadegan, Hamidiyeh, Bostan, Susangard, Kuy-e-Zaviyeh and Bandar Mahshahr protested  against the water crisis.
