Breathing in Confinement: On Tuesday, August 10, following the arrest of Habib Fadaei, by security forces at his home, a group of people in the town of Junqan staged a protest rally, demanding his release.

 

According to Breathing in Confinement, the news organ of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, on Tuesday, August 10, 2021, Habib Fadaei, living in Junqan, was arrested by security forces. Simultaneously with the arrest of Mr. Fadaei, a number of people in Junqan held protest rallies, demanding his release.

 

Habib Fadaei had once been arrested during the protests in Khuzestan for speaking in the city center in support of the protests.

 

People blocked the entrance road preventing the entry of special security forces into the city. In addition, following the rallies, a group of people gathered in front of the city police station and demanded the release of Habib Fadaei chanting “Habib Fadaei must be released.”

 

The peaceful protests treated violently by security forces who used tear gas to disperse the crowd.
