Akbar Jahani arrested by security forces in Tabriz

Breathing in Confinement: On May 19, 2022, Akbar Jahani, a poet and civil activist from Tabriz, was arrested by security forces.

According to “Breathing in Confinement”, the news organ of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, concurrently with the football match between the teams Tractor and Persepolis at Sahand Stadium in Tabriz, Akbar Jahani, a poet and civil activist, was arrested by security agents at his home and taken to an unknown location.

Earlier, Breathing in Confinement had reported the arrest of two other activists named Ayyub and Davood Shiri from Azerbaijan- Iran.

On Thursday, during the football match between Traktor and Persepolis teams in Sahand Stadium in Tabriz, clashes took place between the people and the special unit forces, and the match was left unfinished.
