Breathing in Confinement: At dawn on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, a prisoner sentenced to death on drug-related charges was executed in Dastgerd Prison in Isfahan.

According to “Breathing in Confinement”, the news organ of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, a prisoner was executed in Dastgerd prison in Isfahan on drug-related charges. He has been identified as Nourahmad Boranzehi, son of Gholam, married and a father, from Zahedan, the center of Sistan and Baluchestan province. He has been in prison since 2018.

On June 6, in an inhumane act, the authorities of the Islamic Republic executed at least 12 prisoners in Zahedan Prison.

According to the annual report of the Statistics Center of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, at least 383 prisoners were executed in the past Persian Year (March 20, 2021- March 20, 2022), of whom only 34 were reported by the state media, and the rest were carried out in secret.
