Breathing in Confinement: On Tuesday, June 7, 2022, Jafar Ismailzadeh, a civil activist living in Tabriz, was arrested after security agents raided his home.

According to “Breathing in Confinement”, the news organ of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, on Tuesday, June 7, Jafar Ismailzadeh, a civil activist living in Tabriz, was arrested by security forces and taken to an unknown location. According to this report, during the arrest of Jafar Ismailzadeh, security agents searched his home and confiscated his mobile phone and 3 USBs.

Earlier, Jafar Esmailzadeh had been charged by Branch 1 of the Revolutionary Court in Tabriz with “propaganda activities against the regime via distributing leaflets and pamphlets and writing anti-regime articles on the boards of some public places as well as photographing and publishing them in social media,” and was sentenced to 6 months in prison. His sentence was later upheld in Branch 3 of the Court of Appeals in East Azerbaijan Province.
