Political prisoners from Qarchak and Great Tehran Prisons transferred to Evin

Breathing in Confinement: In recent days, female political prisoners have been transferred from Qarchak and male political prisoners from Great Tehran prison to Evin.

According to “Breathing in Confinement”, the news organ of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, on Wednesday, July 20, 2022, female political prisoners were transferred from Qarchak Prison to the women’s quarantine ward of Evin prison. In addition, according to the reports, on Sunday, July 24, male political prisoners have suddenly transferred from Greater Tehran Prison (Fashafouye) to Ward 6 (formerly known as 350) of Evin Prison.

The female political prisoners have now been transferred to a Prison Ward where previously hosted female inmates accused of “collaborating with ISIS”.

So far, many reports have been released about the inhumane conditions of Qarchak and Great Tehran Prisons. Instead of rectifying the situation of these two notorious prisons, the authorities of the Islamic Republic have transferred the political prisoners to Evin Prison with restricted communication facilities to prevent the leaking of the news about the disastrous conditions of prisons.
