Breathing in Confinement: Mohammad Shojaa, a paediatric cardiac surgeon and university professor residing in Bojnourd, North Khorasan Province, has been detained for posting an Instagram image of “Cutlet” (a type of food). Security forces have labelled it as an insult to sanctities.

According to “Breathing in Confinement,” the news organ of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, Mohammad Shojaa, a paediatric cardiac surgeon, was arrested by the Intelligence forces of the Revolutionary Guard for sharing a photo of “cutlet” on his Instagram. His Instagram page has also been seized and taken offline.

Tasnim News Agency, affiliated with the Revolutionary Guard, claimed that Mohammad Shojaa was detained for “disturbing the pure feelings of the people,” and that he has been arrested in response to “the demand of a large number of people.” It is worth noting that Mohammad Shojaa had been previously arrested for supporting the 2022 uprising.
