Breathing in Confinement – The death sentence of at least one prisoner who had been arrested and sentenced to death on charges of “murder” was carried out in the Central Prison of Khorramabad.
According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, at dawn on Sunday, 3 August 2025, a prisoner was hanged in Khorramabad Prison. The identity of the prisoner, Saber Azizpour, has been confirmed by Breathing in Confinement.
Saber Azizpour, 25, a resident of Harsin, had previously been arrested on charges of murder and sentenced to death. Efforts to obtain the consent of the victim’s family (for forgiveness) were unsuccessful, and the sentence was carried out on the morning of Sunday, 3 August 2025, in Parsiloun Prison, Khorramabad.

Annual Report on Executions in Iran
According to the annual report by the Statistics Centre of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, at least 1,170 individuals were executed in Iran in 2024. Among them, six people were executed in public, and the executed also included 38 women and 9 juvenile offenders.
