Prisoner Transferred to Solitary Confinement in Adelabad Prison, Shiraz, for Execution

Breathing in Confinement – At least one prisoner who had been arrested on a charge of “murder” and sentenced to death has been transferred to solitary confinement in Shiraz Central Prison for the implementation of his sentence.

According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, on Tuesday, 12 August, a prisoner in Adelabad Prison, Shiraz, was moved to solitary confinement in preparation for execution. His identity has been confirmed by this human rights organisation as Esmaeil Dalavar.

Esmaeil Dalavar had been arrested on a charge of “murder” and sentenced to death.

Annual Report on Executions in Iran

According to the annual report by the Statistics Centre of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, at least 1,170 individuals were executed in Iran in 2024. Among them, six people were executed in public, and the executed also included 38 women and 9 juvenile offenders.
