Mohammadreza Rezaei, Prisoner Sentenced to Death, Transferred to Solitary Confinement for Execution

Breathing in Confinement, Thursday, 20 August 2026: At least one prisoner who had previously been arrested on charges related to “drug offences” and sentenced to death has been transferred to solitary confinement in Khorramabad Prison for the execution of his sentence.

According to reporters from Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, on the morning of Tuesday, 18 August, at least one prisoner sentenced to death was transferred to solitary confinement in Khorramabad Prison in preparation for his execution. Breathing in Confinement has confirmed the prisoner’s identity as Mohammadreza Rezaei.

According to reports received, Mohammadreza Rezaei had previously been arrested on charges related to “drug offences” and sentenced to death by the judiciary.
