Death Sentence Carried Out in Shiraz Prison

Breathing in Confinement, Wednesday, 2 September 2026: The death sentence of at least one prisoner, who had previously been arrested on a charge of “murder” and sentenced to death, was carried out in Shiraz Prison.

According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, a prisoner was hanged in Shiraz Prison at dawn on Wednesday, 2 September. Breathing in Confinement has confirmed the prisoner’s identity as Aziz Roshanaei.

According to the report, Aziz Roshanaei had previously been arrested on a charge of “murder” and sentenced to death by the judiciary. His death sentence was carried out at dawn on Wednesday, 2 September, in Shiraz Prison.
