A prisoner was saved from execution in the City of Sabzevar

Breathing in Confinement-A young man of 24, accused of murder, was pardoned by the victim’s family and saved from execution in the City of Sabzevar.

According to Mehr News Agency, Mohammad Baskabadi director of the Sabzevar Prison, said: “After his death sentence was upheld, the young man went to the gallows twice.  However, the execution had been postponed, having been concurrent with the Martyrdom Anniversary of one of the Shiaa’s Imams (a) and because the murder’s mother fainted while the execution was about to be carried out.

In dawn on the 10th of November, 2019, at the last minute, while the noose was thrown around the murder’s neck, as a result of the efforts and follow-ups of some of the county’s authorities (including Sabzevar ‘s prosecutor and some other benefactors as well as prison’s cultural advisors), the victim’s parents forgiving the murderer and taking the rope out of his neck, granted a second life to the young man.
