A Woman Executed in Kashmar Prison

Breathing in Confinement – Following the recent wave of executions in jails across the country in Iran, a woman who had been sentenced to death for drug-related charges, was executed in Kashmar prison.

According to the Kurdistan Human Rights Network, the death sentence of a female prisoner named Ameneh Rezaeian was executed in Kashmar prison, on Thursday 14th April.

According to this report, the woman was 43 years old and had been arrested two years ago on charges of possession and transportation of drugs and had been sentenced to death.

The report also mentions the condition of a female prisoner, identified as Khavar B., who was convicted on drug charges and is held in this prison awaiting execution.

It is noteworthy that in less than a week, at least 16 prisoners have been hanged in different prisons in Iran.
