Breathing in Confinement: Abbas Nikravan, an activist from West Azerbaijan- Iran, was sentenced to 91 days in prison by the Criminal Court in Salmas.

According to Breathing in Confinement, the news organ of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, Abbas Nikravan, an activist from West Azerbaijan- Iran, living in Salmas, was sentenced to 91 days in prison by the city’s criminal court.

According to the verdict issued under Article 500 of the Islamic Penal Code by Branch 102 of the Criminal Court 2 in Salmas, Mr. Nikravan has been sentenced to 91 days in prison on charges of “propaganda activities against the regime on social media”.

Mr. Nikravan had been arrested and transferred to the Urmia Intelligence Office by security forces on Sunday, September 5, 2021. Later, on Tuesday, September 21, he was released from Urmia Prison on bail, awaiting the court decision.
