Breathing in Confinement – At dawn on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, the death sentence of at least one prisoner convicted of lavat (same-sex intercourse between men) was carried out in Arak Central Prison.

According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, a prisoner was hanged in Arak Prison early on Tuesday morning. The identity of the prisoner has been confirmed by Breathing in Confinement as Reza Tabarteh Farahani.

According to the report, Reza Tabarteh Farahani, son of Mohammad, single and from Arak, had previously been arrested and sentenced to death on charges of same-sex intercourse. The sentence was carried out at dawn on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, in Arak Central Prison.
