Breathing in Confinement – At dawn on Monday, 21 April 2025, the execution of at least one prisoner convicted of murder was carried out at the Central Prison of Khorramabad.

According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, a prisoner was hanged early Monday morning in Khorramabad Prison. The identity of the executed individual has been confirmed as Saeed Derikvand.

As reported by Breathing in Confinement, Saeed Derikvand, son of Karim and a resident of Mian Gholal-e-Laleh village near Khorramabad, had been arrested two years ago on murder charges and sentenced to death. His sentence was carried out at Parsilon Prison in Khorramabad at dawn on Monday, 21 April 2025.

Annual Report on Executions in Iran
