Breathing in Confinement – The death sentence of at least one prisoner, who had been arrested and sentenced to death on charges of “murder,” was carried out in Kashmar Prison.

According to information received by reporters from Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, in the early hours of Sunday, 15 February 2026, a prisoner was executed by hanging in Kashmar Prison. The identity of the prisoner has been confirmed by Breathing in Confinement as Navid Shabanian.

Navid Shabanian, a native of Kashmar, had previously been arrested on charges of “murder” and sentenced to death. The sentence was carried out at dawn on Sunday, 15 February 2026, in Kashmar Prison.
