Extension of detention warrant for Jafar Ebrahimi and Mohammad Habibi

Breathing in Confinement: On Wednesday, June 1, 2022, detention warrant for Mohammad Habibi and Jafar Ebrahimi, members of the Tehran Teachers’ Union, who are in the custody of security forces, was extended.

According to “Breathing in Confinement”, the news organ of the Prisoners ‘Rights League in Iran, on Wednesday, June 1, detention warrant for Jafar Ebrahimi and Mohammad Habibi, members of the Tehran Teachers’ Union, was extended. Their detention has been extended while the bail for the release of Jafar Ebrahimi previously has already been issued and deposited. Jafar Ebrahimi has not had any contact with his family since May 28.

In the early hours of the morning of April 30, 2022, on the eve of a large gathering of teachers on the occasion of Teacher’s Day, security agents raided the homes of Jafar Ebrahimi and Mohammad Habibi and transferred them to Ward 209 of Evin Prison.

Earlier, on January 1, 2022, via a written notification, Branch 6 of the Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor’s Office in Shahriar had summoned Mohammad Habibi to the West Tehran Security Police.

Mohammad Habibi and Jafar Ebrahimi have previously also been arrested and imprisoned.
